To lead our new MA in Design Management and develop our UK and International provision in this area, as well as supporting the University's on-going commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, we are seeking an academic and active researcher/practitioners with an established profile in Design Management to join our thriving School.
The successful candidate for this position must be able to demonstrate a strong track record in Design Management. A strong and extensive network of industry and academic contacts is desirable. You should be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge and critical understanding of design management, the creative and cultural industries and the global social, cultural, environmental, political and the economic forces that are transforming design practice and the application of design approaches in a variety of contexts. The post-holder must be actively engaged in research, professional creative practice and/or income generation in the broad area of Design Management and must have a proven track record of exploring new and emerging modes of practice and scholarship.
Applicants should be qualified to PhD level or if from a professional practice background, at least Masters Level (or of equivalent professional status) and be able to relate the key debates framing the location and transformation of Design Management in contemporary culture to UK Higher Education.They should have a proven track record of delivering a first-class student experience within HE. Experience of education innovation would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate high level digital fluency and a continuing engagement with professional, scholarly and pedagogic development - those without a teaching qualification will be required to undertake Coventry University's PGC HE or secure a HEA fellowship.
