The Centre for Advanced Low-Carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS) is a research centre within the Institute for Future Transport and Cities for the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing at Coventry University. Through understanding the impact of organisations' activities, behaviours and policies, our research seeks to promote responsibility and to change behaviours for the benefit of economies and societies.
Our research teams are (a) developing systems, methods and tools required for an efficient powertrain electrification (b) integrating and developing hydrogen fuel cell systems for automotive powertrains; and (c) developing impact-free internal combustion engines by increased efficiency, introduction of fuels from alternative sources and novel exhaust after treatment concepts through experiment and simulation. This post is within the second of these teams and supplements the team's existing professors and research leadership.
Reporting to the Research Centre Director, the post holder will be part of a dynamic team, actively contributing to the research strategy and activities of C-ALPS and supporting a team of very active researchers across a portfolio of projects. The focus for this post includes integration of fuel cell systems into electrified powertrain concepts, air path development for fuel cell systems and function development for fuel cell systems.
The successful candidate will support the development of staff and postgraduate research students, to achieve a critical mass of outputs and impacts, building recognition as a global centre for excellence.
