Faculty of Arts & Humanities - School of Humanities
Inspire the next generation
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to advance their career at a university committed to enhancing its staff and student experience. By taking the lead as an Associate Head of School, this is your chance to inspire the next generation whilst continuing to develop yourself academically and acquiring further managerial skills along the way.
Join us and you’ll be part of a vibrant community of scholars, researchers and practitioners in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities which has a global profile and a heritage of quality built up over 175 years. And, over the last five years, we are proud to have invested over £250million in our academic capability while further developing our world-class facilities so that both our staff and our students remain in great hands.
As well as offering a broad range of exciting courses across subjects such as history, politics and international relations, our School of Humanities embraces innovation and has an enviable record of delivering outstanding student experience. It is also one of our most active schools in terms of international mobility.
As Associate Head, you will take responsibility for delivering the Teaching and Learning Strategy and the agenda for the enhancement of the student experience across the School. Supporting colleagues, you will identify and lead on teaching and learning innovation opportunities for the School’s broad range of Humanities discipline areas. This will involve proactive networking, partnership development, supporting the internationalisation of the curriculum and exploring new modes of delivery in order to provide an enhanced experience for all of our diverse students.
To fulfil this role, you will need a PhD (or an equivalent level of professional standing alongside a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject), and have experience in a relevant subject area, with a track record of academic excellence and innovation in developing a student-centred curriculum relevant to the Global Engagement portfolio.
In return for your skills and commitment, Coventry University provides opportunities for both career and personal development in the form of a tailored development programme. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes a generous holiday allowance and pension, as well as flexible working options. We will also consider assistance for those wishing to relocate to the Coventry area.
Collaborate with us to build a brighter future for all.
