Faculty of Arts & Humanities - School of Humanities
Lead. Motivate. Inspire.
Our latest leadership opportunity gives you the space to develop your own career – as well as that of our students - in a truly stimulating and diverse organisation. This is a fantastic chance for a talented and ambitious individual to continue developing academically by leading a key activity at the university while acquiring further managerial skills along the way.
You will join a vibrant community of scholars, researchers and practitioners in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities which has a global profile and a heritage of quality built up over 175 years. And, over the last five years, we are proud to have invested over £250million in our academic capability while further developing our world-class facilities so that both our staff and our students remain in great hands.
As well as offering a broad range of exciting courses across subjects such as history, politics and international relations, our School of Humanities embraces innovation and has an enviable record of delivering outstanding student experience. It is also one of our most active schools in terms of international mobility.
As Associate Head, you will lead on UK recruitment and collaborate with the Associate Head of Global Engagement on international recruitment. Working closely with fellow Associate Heads of School, and with others across the University such and the recruitment unit (CURAL) and the planning office, your aim will be to enhance and realise strategies, achieve targets and ensure best practice. Supporting School colleagues, you will advise on recruitment opportunities and tactics for Humanities disciplines; leading the development of local and regional partnerships and supporting national recruitment events.
To fulfil this role, we are looking for a dedicated individual with a PhD (or an equivalent level of professional standing alongside a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject), and experience in a relevant subject area. You will also have a track record of academic excellence and innovation in developing a student-centred curriculum relevant to the Global Engagement portfolio, as well as being willing to travel internationally.
In return for your skills and commitment, Coventry University provides opportunities for both career and personal development in the form of a tailored development programme. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes a generous holiday allowance and pension, as well as flexible working options. We will also consider assistance for those wishing to relocate to the Coventry area.
So why not join us on our journey – promoting the future of humanities to the next generation of students.
