Coventry University is seeking an outreach worker to support the development and delivery of the outreach programme for the Lanchester Interactive Archive, co-funded by Coventry University and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Outreach work is at the heart of their function however this post will have more focus on marketing and profile aspect of the project.
Working within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the dedicated Lanchester Interactive Archive space within the Lanchester Library building www.lanchesterinteractive.org, the posts, funded to April 2019 2018, will bring to life the amazing archive and achievements of Dr Frederick Lanchester(1868-1946), one of Britain's greatest engineers and inventors. The Lanchester Library at Coventry University holds the largest collection of Frederick's work in notebooks, blueprints, sketchbooks, photographs, patents and correspondence,and is the biggest source of Lanchester information and knowledge in the world.
The outreach posts will work to develop audiences and deliver content that bring his legacy to life, through a comprehensive programme of outreach work that will engage people in his inventions, encourage them to use the archive resources, and inspire them to be creative.
