Working in the Renishaw headquarters in Wotton-under-Edge,Gloucestershire, to deliver a Knowledge Transfer Partnership project with Coventry University. The position also holds out the possibility of obtaining a Post-Graduate qualification that would run in parallel to the KTP programme. Renishaw is a world leading Metrology Company, with expertise in precision measurement, engineering and physics. The company's products and services are used in various industries such as automotive,aerospace, creative, healthcare,and used in applications from jet engine and wind turbine manufacture, through to dentistry and brain surgery. The post will be delivering an exciting and innovative two year project to develop a novel process for finishing the external and internal surfaces of additive manufactured components. To achieve this objective an intensive and challenging programme of research has been put together focusing on the novel combination of ultrasound/ sonochemistry and electrochemical approaches. The post will be supervised at Renishaw by the Senior Development Engineer (Special Projects, Group Engineering Division)and will receive significant academic support through the academic team at Coventry University.
This high profile project will provide the appointed KTP Associate with the opportunity to work with experts in additive manufacturing at Renishaw Plc.and with academic experts from Coventry University in sonochemistry/ultrasonic and electrochemical research. Applicants should have, as a minimum, a 2.1 at Bachelor's Degree level and ideally a Masters Degree in a relevant science subject,preferably chemistry based and a good knowledge of electrochemistry whilst experience of ultrasound/ sonochemical/ electrochemistry/ chemistry techniques and equipment would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will have excellent R&D skills, be proficient at project management and extremely adaptable and flexible. In addition, experience of using materials analysis equipment e.g. SEM, EDX, Interferometry etc. would be advantageous.
