Summer Pre-sessional English tutors
Due to a surge in student numbers, we are looking to recruit an additional group of enthusiastic and committed tutors to deliver English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes on our five week summer Pre-sessional English courses.
These Pre-sessional courses prepare students for entry to their degree programme through development of academic language and skills.
A full induction, course syllabus and materials are provided.
Please note, we can only considerapplications for tutors who already have eligibility to work in the UK asthese posts will not be eligible for sponsorship under tier 2.
Course Description
Coventry University has just been named Top New University (Complete University Guide 2018), and is the top university in the UK for international student mobility (HESA).
The Coventry Pre-sessional English (PSE) programme is a University-wide programme which has attracted students from 48 different counties over the last two years, and provides high quality courses as part of a truly international experience for our students.
The main destination degree courses for PSE students are International Business and other business-related subject degrees, with substantial numbers also taking engineering and computing courses, and increasing numbers taking Art and Design, or media related courses.

We are recruiting EAP tutors for the courses listed below. Please note that both the induction period and administrative days are paid and require full attendance. A pro rata holiday entitlement is paid at the end of the course.

Qualifications
- Applicants should hold a good first degree and a recognised TEFL qualification (e.g. CELTA, CertTrinity TESOL) as a minimum
- Applicants with a TEAP qualification, a DELTA and/or a master's in Applied Linguistics/TESOL are particularly encouraged to apply
- Experience of teaching on EAP/pre-sessional and/or in-sessional courses, preferably in a UK university context, is desirable

Rates of pay:
Remuneration will be at GBP 27,080 - GBP 33,329 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience. Please note that we may be able to offer an accommodation subsidy.
