As a commitment to our investment in Criminology, we are now looking to appoint an outstanding and experienced professional in Criminology to join our highly regarded, and student-focussed Criminology team. The successful post-holder will lead the Criminology team on the next phase of the School's ambitious growth and development plan. Working with the School's Curriculum Development Lead, Deputy Head and Associate Heads of School, the post holder will be pivotal in realising new course provision, whilst acting as the Course Director for our current suite of BA Criminology courses. This role provides an excellent opportunity to help shape the direction of Criminology over the next period.

The School is recognised for the high quality of its provision of applied and professional courses. This includes a broad portfolio of on-campus, off-campus, blended and distance learning courses both discipline and profession specific. The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has strong partnerships with employers and placement providers from a range of sectors including Local Authority Social Services,Strategic Health Authorities, NHS Trusts, education, and the independent,voluntary and the private sectors. Applied research activity is an integral part of the Faculty's business and there is a strong commitment to enabling staff to engage in a wide range of research and scholarship. For this post, the role holder will be expected to focus on academic leadership, and teaching and learning in the first instance.
Applicants must hold a PhD and publications or equivalent outputs or (if from Professional practice background) a good Honours/Masters Degree and appropriate professional qualifications and/or membership and or equivalent professional qualifications that might be considered as equivalent to a PhD. Applicants must demonstrate an experience of delivering in an educational setting.
