Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, the Sustainable Transport Manager will be responsible for providing expertise in travel planning across the University Group. As the lead in sustainable transport planning at the University you will have the opportunity to seek and develop new practices and bring a holistic approach to sustainable travel management and policy.
As a growing university, the Sustainable Transport Manager will seek new solutions to meet a range of University and stakeholder needs and will communicate and engage widely. You will also have the opportunity to be part of transport decisions in capital projects to ensure planning requirements are met, as well as the oversight of transport policy and planning at our satellite sites. The role supports the University's Sustainability Strategy and is essential to the ongoing success of the University.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience and expertise in transport planning with a focus on sustainability. The delivery and development of strategy and transport plans within a large, complex organisation is essential for the role. You will have an aptitude for seeking and exploring new solutions and be able to connect development and delivery of plans to wider strategic, political and customer focused objectives. To do this you will possess strong communication and collaboration skills, actively engaging stakeholders and promoting initiatives within the university and across external networks.
