Coventry University is investing heavily in research, continuing our commitment to talented, world-class researchers with GBP 100million into our research with a total spend of GBP 150million in our estate and facilities. We are gaining momentum as a world class, innovative institution and our strategy is underpinned by a significant investment in our people.
As part of our research strategy, the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations is working to strengthen human security and resilience to help improve the way we live. Our team of leading academics has developed a significant portfolio of excellent and impactful research that delivers world-class results.
We are looking for a talented researcher to support our Migration, Displacement and Belonging research group and to expand our research and consultancy capacity in this field. The group undertakes research on different aspects of international migration including the causes of the European migration crisis, the politics of migration policy and practice in the UK and Europe, labour migration and displacement in South and South East Asia and South America, public attitudes towards migration and migrants and the relationship between migrants and the communities of which they become a part. Members of the group often draw on a range of participatory and visual methods to capture the voices and perspectives of migrants themselves. Duties also include publishing as principal author or co-author and disseminating research findings through papers, books and presentations to academic and non-academic audiences. You should therefore have a very good level of knowledge of migration, displacement and belonging issues. You should have a PhD (or have submitted a PhD thesis at the time of application), or be able to demonstrate substantial professional experience at a senior level in a field relating to migration.
