Our School of Art and Design is a dynamic environment which embraces innovation in teaching, research and professional practice. This key role is an exciting chance for a talented and motivated individual to continue developing academically while supporting the Head of School in delivery of an ambitious strategic vision, which defines the future of Art and Design education at Coventry and shapes the future of its disciplines through our national and international collaborations.
As Deputy Head, you will drive forward the School’s contribution to the University’s Corporate Plan, assuming lead responsibility for the School’s day-to-day operational management and requirements. You will represent the School internally and externally and implement policies at School level. Liaising closely with the Associate Heads of School and other school staff, you will support the school’s aims, overseeing staff and resource management, and ensuring colleagues receive the training they need.
As we approach 2021, this role also offers a unique opportunity to play a lead role in the contribution your school and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities makes to Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture. Particularly through its external partnerships with the creative, cultural (and other) industries at a national and international level.
You will need a PhD (or an equivalent level of professional standing alongside a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject), and have experience in a relevant subject area, with a track record of academic excellence and innovation.
