The successful candidate will have experience in Engineering Design to progress a product/system through key developmental phases. The candidate will have recent applied experience of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and may also have experience of taking designs into production.
Within the role they should be able to relate current industrial best practice techniques into a manageable format that students can realistically engage with, to ensure a rigorous approach to the design discipline. The design curriculum includes (but not limited to); design methodology, CAD/CAM, Product Bill of Materials (PBoM), verification and validation techniques.
Applicants can expect to fulfil teaching responsibility in key areas of Engineering Design; design methodology (systems approach), design tools and techniques (e.g. FM, QFD, DFx, FMEA, etc), quality control, continuous improvement processes, product life-cycle, CAD/CAM and technical drawing.
You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area of specialisation. You will be expected to support design and delivery of teaching that is engaging, innovative and responsive, that achieves excellent student learning outcomes. You must be willing to work flexibly to promote and support international partnerships, as well as potentially deliver teaching onsite at one of our international partners.
This position is a teaching focused post that will appeal to you by allowing you to focus on pedagogic practice and curriculum development. The post will attract candidates from both academic and industrial backgrounds and the successful candidate should be qualified to Honours Degree in a relevant subject. Membership of a Professional Body, a recognised teaching qualification or participation in professional educational practice/consultancy will also be advantageous.
