The Research Centre for Global Learning are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor to work as part of a small, dynamic team, leading on a range of research-related activities which will contribute to GLEA’s future success. This post will sit within the Development, Engagement and Attainment research theme, which seeks to use empirical evidence to understand learning environments and reduce inequalities in educational attainment in schools, colleges and universities. The theme is multi-disciplinary and draws on expertise from education, sociology, psychology, and linguistics, among other areas. As such, we welcome applications from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. We are particularly interested in understanding and addressing inequalities due to socio-economic background, ethnic group, or special educational need.
The post of Assistant Professor will be responsible for a portfolio of research related activities including bid writing, working on research projects, supervision of postgraduate research students, publishing and/or disseminating research results, and creating impact. Additionally, the successful applicant will support the delivery of the Centre’s Structured PhD in Global Education.
The successful applicant should hold a PhD and demonstrate significant research experience in a field relevant to education, including income generation (either as lead or as part of a team), publication profile and project management skills.
