Coventry University was ranked University of the Year for Student Experience in 2019, and has been ranked the 15th best university in the UK, making this an exciting time to join the team as we continue to deliver our Corporate Strategy to 2021, and begin to look ahead to 2030.
As part of that strategy delivery, the Group Policy Unit focuses on influencing and informing relevant politicians, policy makers and enabling organisations about the strengths of the University as well as on informing the University Group Leadership of key policy drivers and their implications for University practice.
The Policy Advisor role will play a leading role in managing external relationships, with a focus on building and maintaining the University Group’s relationship with the Office for Students and other relevant regulators. The post holder will also support senior leadership with events and meetings by providing policy briefings and analysis of secondary data and statistics as appropriate.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a national or regional policy organisation, experience of co-ordinating and producing formal documents and be educated to degree level or equivalent. The post holders will have excellent writing and communication skills as well as a keen understanding of the potential political sensitivities of the work.
The key to successful delivery of the roles will be the ability to work cooperatively within the wider Vice-Chancellor’s Office and across a number of virtual teams, working effectively with a broad range of individuals and organisations.
For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Jav Ghuman, Senior Policy Advisor on 07557 425004.
Interviews will take place on the week commencing 24th February and 3rd March 2020.
