The key components of this role are to support the Coventry University Group's engagement in policy developments and to raise the profile of the University Group within the enterprise & innovation environment, to build relationships with EU businesses, policy makers, influencers and other relevant institutions, including proactively seeking out funding and consultancy opportunities.
Your demonstrable experience of working in a policy advisor role and political understanding of the European commission and associated policy environment will enable you to take a lead role in prioritising, understanding and advising on EU policy relating to higher education and enterprise & innovation. Your entrepreneurial, innovative and decisive approach will see you develop opportunities for the University group to work with businesses across Europe, bringing commercial partners in and offering consultancy services based on University Group expertise.
Experienced in drafting funding and investment proposals and formal consultation responses, you will undertake high-quality research into relevant policy areas and potential commercial opportunities. Supporting the reputation of Coventry University group in Brussels, you will represent the group at meetings, conferences and other relevant events. This post will require significant travel around Europe, as well as time spent in Coventry, developing internal relationships.
