Coventry University is committed to creating better futures and to be world leading in all that we do. Having achieved a gold rating in the UK government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), and ranked 15th in the Guardian University Guide 2020, we are determined to build on our position as a leading provider of flexible, innovative education and impactful, global research so as to offer transformative experiences to all our learning communities.
We would like to invite you to join Coventry University’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities - a vibrant international community of scholars, researchers and practitioners who are passionate about the future potential of the creative arts - at a particularly exciting time. The Faculty has always championed collaborative working and provided access to leading-edge resources. In summer 2022 it will do so from an outstanding new Faculty building that will push the boundaries of how we create and innovate across a range of exciting disciplines.
The opportunity now exists for you to take up a leading role in the Faculty’s School of Media and Performing Arts, helping to shape its future. Our School is an award-winning, creative hub that has a history of innovation and industry collaboration. We offer highly-regarded undergraduate and post graduate courses in film, photography and media production, music and acting, journalism and communication, digital and immersive media.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic Curriculum Leader who has impressive expertise in either practical Film, Photography or Media production. You will be shaping the future of your Curriculum area by developing new courses, new enterprise and engagement opportunities, providing strategic direction to existing course teams and supporting teaching and learning in your area. So you will need to be an experienced leader who is passionate about education, employability and developing industry focussed opportunities that enhance the student experience.
You will either have a PhD or have a significant track record of high-profile professional practice experience in a relevant field, alongside degree level qualifications and subject knowledge.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing innovation and improvement in pedagogy; those without a teaching qualification will need to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE and/or secure HEA fellowship.
Successful applicants will also demonstrate an ability to contribute to research or scholarship, and /or enterprise through their academic or industry experience in the subject area. There will be opportunities to join our Research Institute for Creative Cultures and contribute to our high profile Global Engagement and Enterprise and Innovation projects.
Coventry University is committed to providing our employees with the best opportunities for both career and personal development. We offer a wide range of training and support to all staff as well as generous holiday allowances, generous pensions, rewards packages and flexible working options.
