The Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) is a research hub for the Faculty of Business and Law at Coventry University. Through understanding the impact of organisations' activities, behaviours and policies,our research seeks to promote responsibility and to change behaviours for the benefit of economies and societies.
Our research teams are (a) examining sustainable production and ethical consumption within the new circular economy; (b) searching for durable and inclusive economic growth models, with new partnerships between state, economy and society; (c) exploring at the national, organisational and individual level the economic and social impacts of the financial crisis and post-financialisation; and (d) addressing the implications of digital and big data for business and society, in particular the use, privacy and security of data in organisations and society. This post is within the first of these teams and supplements the team's existing professors and research leadership.
Reporting to the Faculty Research Centre Executive Director, the post holder will be part of a dynamic team, actively contributing to the research strategy and activities of CBiS and supporting a team of very active researchers across a portfolio of projects. The focus for this post includes interests in ethics and ethical consumption, the understanding of consumers,management of consumption, behavioural change interventions and nudge (in thecontext of consumption), to reflect the increasing focus of CBiS on managing and bringing about behavioural changeamongst consumers and citizens.
The successful candidate will support the development of staff and postgraduate research students, to achieve a critical mass of outputs and impacts, building recognition as a global centre for excellence.
Candidates must have experience of managing high performance teams, be REFable, be experienced in postgraduate research supervision, have a track record of securing research funding, be able to demonstrate strong international collaborations and networks, as well as be an effective mentor of colleagues and very much a team player.
