Committed to research and teaching excellence and passionate about the arts, humanities, design and media, Coventry University's Faculty of Art and Humanities is a vibrant community of scholars, researchers and practitioners with profile across the globe and a heritage of quality built up over 150 years.
The School of Media and Performing arts has a long-sustained reputation for innovation and enjoys a rapidly rising profile. It has established a highly distinctive 'Open Media' approach towards its teaching, research and professional practice and offers exciting undergraduate and postgraduate courses including theatre, music, journalism, digital media and photography. This post teaching on the BA Media Production course underpins this ethos and the enhancement of teaching and learning activities in the School.
This is an opportunity for a proactive individual to join our Media Production team. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the ability to make a distinctive contribution to television and studio based media production.
The successful candidate will undertake teaching and curriculum development within the Media Production programme and be actively engaged in applied research, professional practice and/or income generation. The post-holder must have a proven track record in teaching and/or working across television and film production, particularly within studio settings. They should have interest and expertise in the broad field of media production, having a focus on innovative forms of studio work, digital/online modes of production, distribution and contribution.
Applicants should be qualified to Masters Level, or have significant equivalent professional status, and be able to demonstrate an engagement with the current debates in professional and academic arenas. Candidates should have a growing research profile in emergent forms of media production with evidence of publications or other appropriate practice-based outputs.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a continuing engagement with pedagogic development - those without a teaching qualification will be required to undertake Coventry University's PGCHE. Applicants must have experience of delivering a first-class student experience within a higher education environment, via active engagement in teaching, or supporting teaching at HE level.
