The Research Centre for Sports, Exercise & Life Sciences is seeking an ambitious Research Fellow for the role of Research Fellow in Bio-leaching within the Centre Theme of Bioscience and Biotechnology Engineering. Our Research in the area of Bioscience and Biotechnology Engineering focusses on the exploitation of biological processes for multiple aspects of societal impact, ranging from well-being and medicine to bioremediation and environmental safety.
We are looking to attract a dynamic and outstanding researcher to join our team.You will contribute to the success and drive of the research Theme and should be experienced in the area of bioleaching/biomining, metals recovery from waste and have a PhD in bioremediation or environmental sciences or related subjects. Expertise in microbiology is essential, and experience in bioreactors, molecular biology and /or metal chemistry would be a valuable asset. Along with being an innovative researcher, you should have the desire to work within, and contribute to, an interdisciplinary research environment.
You will be joining a successful Research Centre who have significant links with industry, the third sector and public health bodies, along with the Institute Advisory Board and prestigious Honorary Research Fellows. We also have a growing Post-Graduate Research community who contribute to a vibrant and thriving research environment.
