School of Marketing and Management
Reporting to the Head of School with a functional reporting line to the Faculty's Associate Dean - Marketing and Recruitment, you will have specific responsibility for developing the Marketing, Recruitment and Communication agenda across the School, leading on the School student recruitment plan for home, EU and overseas markets. You will ensure portfolio objectives are understood and applied effectively in fulfilment of the University's Mission Statement and Corporate Plan.
Alongside the Associate Deans and Head of School, you will determine and communicate student recruitment projections in line with Faculty plans and the Corporate Plan. This will involve close liaison with the Recruitment Admissions Office, International Office, Marketing and Communications, Alumni, Planning, and CEG.
You will work closely with Marketing and Communications and fellow Associate Heads of School to creatively develop the marketing profile and School brand. You will play a lead in the identification of future course offerings and opportunities and, on a practical basis, will collaborate with Marketing and Communications to ensure web information is accurate and expertly presented.
The organisation and running of open days will be one of your critical responsibilities as will engagement in clearing; marketing and communications activity and the use of social media. We will look to you to help use the School's own staff to maximise media impact (broadcast, print and social).
Alumni development is an important element in the university strategy and you will be asked to engage in associated activities such as publications, the promotion of success stories, social media, and alumni events. This will involve you closely with the Development and Alumni Relations and Marketing Communications teams.
Each Associate Head of School post embraces two distinct aspects; a portfolio-focused element and an academic role at Principal Lecturer level (or above). Our intention is that you should contribute significantly in both capacities and develop your potential for advancement within the University.Whilst this is a permanent appointment, tenure to the specialist Associate Head of School element will be by way of a secondment of 4 years.

Teaching, research and scholarly activity will be delivered through your substantive academic role and you will participate fully as a member of the School management team.
You will be expected to have a PhD together with experience in a relevant subject area (or an equivalent level of professional experience and a relevant Postgraduate degree) alongside a record of academic excellence and of delivering an innovative, student-centred curriculum.
