Working in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace & Automotive Engineering, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in delivery of engineering programmes. You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction (ranked in the Guardian University Guide in the country's top two for our courses in Mechanical Engineering).
Due to the continued growth and success of our undergraduate and postgraduate engineering teaching and growing research profile, we wish to appoint a Technical Skills Instructor in Aerodynamic Experimentation and Testing to operate, maintain and develop our large scale Low Speed Wind Tunnel, designed and built by Mercedes Petronas F1 team.
We are seeking a person with a good level of general education or an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline would be advantageous but not essential. Relevant industrial or educational experience will also be considered, as will significant experience in a teaching or practical instructional capacity. You will be proactive and have the ability to operate on own initiative and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Successful candidates will be required to support the use of the current facilities including:
* Open section, re-circulatory wind tunnel* Cosworth IJB10 hardware and Pi Diablo software * Data acquisition systems including Scanivalve and hot wire anemometry.* Operation of LabView
Training on which will be provided.
