Working in the School of Energy, Construction and Environment, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in teaching and research in the field of Civil Engineering geotechnics/ soil mechanics. You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction and show a commitment to enhancing our research activities through "Excellence with Impact".
You will have wide experience of Civil Engineering, covering both its theory and application with a particular focus on Civil Engineering geotechnics/ soil mechanics. Applicants are expected to be members of a recognised professional institution or demonstrate that they are actively working towards full membership. As well as teaching and course management activities you will be expected to contribute to applied research activities of the department with a possible focus in the Faculty Research Centre delivering research outputs in the area of the Built Environment.
Applicants from academia will have experience and success of delivering high-quality teaching and learning opportunities together with a portfolio of funded research and/or industry-linked consultancy activity with associated publication profile. Applicants from practice would be expected to demonstrate experience of training/mentoring and a portfolio of relevant project and professional experience that can be used to inform the teaching and learning experience of our students.
