We are looking for experienced academic staff in Sport Management/Sport Marketing who can underpin their teaching with research, supporting the overall vision of the University and helping us to improve our already successful reputation. Lecturers and Senior Lecturers are regarded as academic leaders in the university who focus on innovation in, and development of, the core activities of teaching and/or research.
Lecturer and Senior Lecturer posts offer the chance to specialise and play to personal strengths in preparation for further advancement. With a PhD and recent teaching experience in a Higher Education environment it is expected that lecturers will have evidence of a developing research profile in the area of Sport Management/Sport Marketing, whilst senior lectures will demonstrate an extensive research profile in this area.t. You may also have experience of leading- edge professional practice or consultancy work including evidence of effective application of solutions to business and practice problems. Experience of working on an international level and competence in more than one language would be advantageous.
As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer you will be responsible for the development and delivery of learning, teaching and assessment at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and you will contribute to the development, organisation and management of the curriculum. Ensuring that your teaching and learning is informed by contemporary research, you will undertake applied research by contributing actively to groups or communities internally and externally and will make a substantial contribution to bids and tenders for external projects. You will develop external networks nationally and internationally, supervising research students and will undertake work with a range of external partners and professional bodies/agencies in the UK and overseas.
You will need at least a Master degree (or professional equivalent) in a relevant management focused subject and recent teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates holding PhDs / close to completion and/or with a record of publications in the relevant field. Your growing research portfolio and your ability to network and develop partnerships with external organisations will further enhance the School's profile.
