Coventry University has seen huge global successes in recent years: Times Higher Education University of the Year 2015, The Good University Guides' Modern University of the Year 2016, and now the 12th best University in The Guardian University Guide 2018. We have also achieved the top accolade in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), published on the 22nd June by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).
It doesn't stop here. Coventry University is taking its next big step, this time into the digital world of online distance learning. Working with UK-based FutureLearn, which has over six million learners worldwide on its collaborative learning platform, the University is planning to launch its first Master's programmes in early 2018. The roll out of 50 online degrees over the next five years will deliver world-leading programmes, accessible to thousands of new distance learners across the globe.
The creation of supporting infrastructure within a new, dynamic and innovative business will be pivotal in helping the University Group develop and deliver courses online through a devoted 'Studio', as well as providing dedicated support in key areas such as Marketing, Admissions and Student Care. This is both a sector and UK first; a thrilling time to join a start-up unlike any other; an opportunity to shape the future of Higher Education.
As a senior member of the Admissions team, you will take a lead role in the development and implementation of admissions policy and processes for the admission of students to online learning degree programmes, demonstrating a best practice approach and championing innovative ways of working. Building on an already strong admissions practice, you will work with the Director of Operations (Online) and Deputy Director (Admissions Operations) to identify and improve systems and processes that will ensure the team meets and, where possible, exceeds it KPIs and is working most effectively to reach our ambitious student recruitment targets. Leading a team of online admissions officers, you will have a professional approach to management and a focus on excellent customer service that infuses all of our admissions systems.
With experience in a similar Higher Education environment, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to provide and interrogate complex and multiple datasets, optimise CRM technology to best effect, and realise new ideas that will enhance our ability to convert applications into admissions through delivery of a unique and positive student experience.
It goes without saying that you will be fully conversant with relevant policies and practices of student admissions both domestically and, ideally, internationally, including liaison with relevant professional bodies and advisory groups. You will need to be confident in managing budgets and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders around the world ensuring that the University is represented positively at all levels. With a degree and relevant professional CPD, you will bring extensive experience to this exiting admissions role.
