The opening for Research Fellow in Physical Activity and Exercise has arisen within the Research Centre, for Sport, Exercise and Life Sciences (CSELS). This Centre’s researchreflects a broad strength of sport, exercise and biological associated sciences to understand life from the level of molecules through to the whole body. The Centre has considerable expertise, ranging from expertise in cell biology, genomic and molecular biology, biochemistry, nutrition and food science, safety pharmacology, physiology, physical activity and sport performance. Transdisciplinary research is at the heart of what we do.
We are seeking to appoint a talented researcher with expertise and experience in the area of Physical Activity and Exercise Interventions to complement our existing research strengths. Specifically, we are looking for individuals whose research skills can contribute to a programme of research studying children in relation to Physical Activity, Movement Skills and Exercise Interventions.
You will be based in the new Science and Health Building, in Coventry, which has state-of-the?art sport, exercise and life sciences research facilities.
It is expected that the successful applicant has experience in assessment of physical activity, collection of a range of data relating to physical activity, health related fitness, functional movement, motor competence and exercise psychology. In addition to running and evaluating exercise interventions. Prior research experience with children would be advantageous.In this role, you will plan, lead and carry out a high-quality research programme in the field of Physical Activity and Exercise Interventions, undertake project management and/or supervise multi-disciplinary teams. In addition, you will be expected to submit publications to peer-reviewed journals, attract external research funding, assist in collection of impact related data and contribute to the teaching activities of the Centre.
