Reporting to the Head of School and working closely with the Faculty’s Associate Dean – Global Engagement (AD GE), you will interpret and apply the Faculty’s Internationalisation strategy and have specific responsibility for developing the Internationalisation agenda throughout the School’s activities, ensuring portfolio objectives are understood and applied effectively in fulfilment of the University’s Mission Statement and Corporate Plan. You will work closely with fellow Associate Heads of School, with Global Engagement colleagues across the Faculty and beyond, the Centre for Global Engagement and Academic Partnership Unit, to realize strategies, achieve targets and ensure best practice.
Supporting colleagues in the School you will identify and advise on international opportunities for Humanities disciplines; leading the development of international partnerships, Trans-National Education, international recruitment, and strategies for international student mobility experiences. You will work closely with Link Tutors for existing partnerships. This position will require you to represent the School internally, externally and internationally and will involve significant international travel.
This role provides an opportunity for a talented, ambitious individual who wishes to continue their academic development by leading this key pillar of activity, while acquiring further managerial experience and skills. You will network proactively and develop partnerships at a national and international level to ensure opportunities for the School are identified and delivered. You will need a PhD (or an equivalent level of professional standing alongside a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject), and have experience in a relevant subject area, with a track record of academic excellence and innovation in developing a student-centred curriculum relevant to the Global Engagement portfolio.
