Job description
At the National Transport Design Centre (NTDC) we are looking for an innovative thinker to join our growing team. This post is to support and enhance our capability and design expertise by creating immersive visuals of future transport systems in Extended Reality (XR).
The NTDC at Coventry University was launched in 2017 and is all about changing the way the
world moves! At the NTDC we have world-class physical and digital modelling facilities, academics and designers in the fields of Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM), accessible transport, eMobility, and Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
We have a team of psychologists, human factors experts, industrial and automotive designers alongside engineers and experts in human systems integration. See out LinkedIn pages at

In order for people to better understand how they will interact with and use transport of the future, first they need to visualise it. This is where this current roles supports our research, by translating our designs and creating assets into world-class visuals, using VR, AR and MR.
Examples of our current research projects, and how you can support us, are:
• Using VR and the HTC Vive to better understand wayfinding and navigation within a Vertiport (aka an urban airport for drones and flying cars)
• Visualising designs concepts for low speed, urban vehicles and creating an immersive experience within our purpose built Mixed Reality Buck
• Creating interfaces for self-driving cars within our Driver-in-the-Loop simulator
• Using Augmented Reality to bring future transport systems to life
