The Associate Head of Student Experience & Quality is across-departmental role aligned to the university strategic objectives. The successful candidate will join an established senior management team that also includes the Associate Head of Research & Scholarship and Associate Head of Recruitment, International and Partnerships. You are expected to be a key contributor to Coventry University London's fulfilment of the Coventry University Group's Mission Statement and Corporate Plan.
Initial priorities for the role include shaping the Group Teaching, Learning and Assessment strategy for the London Campus by mobilising the sharing of good practice, introducing innovations and providing guidance and advice on teaching and assessment approaches across to ensure students have a rich, varied and exciting learning experience. You will be responsible for Quality Assurance by leading regular reviews of the taught portfolio to maintain and enhance the University's student satisfaction, retention, attainment, and graduate employment targets taking actions where required.
You will work closely with and report to a Head of Department who will be responsible for the strategic direction of Student Experience and Quality and support the Associate Head in the cross-department implementation of initiatives. You will also work closely with other campuses within the Group.
The role is two-fold; you will be placed in one of the three Departments (Accounting and Finance; Marketing, Fashion, Hospitality and Tourism; Management and Human Resources) based on subject knowledge and expertise (0.5 FTE) and also assume the role of Associate Head of Student Experience and Quality (0.5 FTE). Being an expert in their subject field, Associate Heads are expected to maintain their academic standing and authority through managing academic teams, mentoring,teaching, curriculum design, quality assurance, research and international activities. They will be expected to contribute to Coventry University London building a national and international profile whilst enhancing the quality of provision.
You will need a track record of success in academic leadership, curriculum development and research. Extensive experience of teaching within a Higher Education Institution, education to doctorate (or equivalent professional qualifications/experience) and a teaching qualification is essential.
