and 2016 (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016), ranked 12th in the UK in the Guardian University Guide 2018, and are ranked in the top 4% of higher education institutions in the world (QS World Rankings 2016). The University has a reputation for excellent teaching and research, business engagement, innovation and entrepreneurship, and employs 3,000 staff, with 24,000 students. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is the oldest part of Coventry University, educating some of the world's leading artists, designers and creative thinkers since 1843. We believe that arts and humanities have a transformative effect on our lives.
A Senior Research Fellow (SRF) is required to help support the delivery of REACH - Re-designing access to Cultural Heritage for a wider participation in preservation, (re)use and management of European culture - a project funded under H2020. The SRF should be able to demonstrate high-level skills and expertise in the following areas: study of gender in cultural processes, women's contribution to the creation of culture and heritage, gender and creative expressions; familiarity with current scholarship and approaches to women's and gender studies, gender equality planning, narrative analysis and theories of representation.
Generating outstanding research outputs, the SRF will have a profile of research activity that is recognised internationally, along with significant European experience of working in environments that promote innovation in research, especially trans-national networking in the Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities field, and an ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, build cultural connectivity and sustain inter-cultural dialogue. The ability to speak other European languages would be advantageous.
