Coventry University is inviting applications for a Professor post to drive the strategic growth and development of research activity in the newly formed Centre for Technology Enabled Health Research (CTEHR), providing strategic direction, management and joint leadership within the Centre's research themes - Innovation, Design & Technology.
Set in a highly successful research culture, the Centre works closely with citizens, service providers, commissioners and industry. As well as delivering research excellence through theoretically-driven original studies that can help improve the health and wellbeing of diverse populations across the life course, the Centre is committed to generating economic growth for our city, region and the broader national economy. Staffed by a multi-professional team of 29 academics and 26 doctoral researchers we are committed to collaborative research bringing together health psychology, design and technology, participatory arts based methods and health technology assessment.
The Centre is structured around 4 research themes; Children and Families, Health Economics Modelling and Systems Analysis, Behaviour and Interventions and Innovation Design & Technology. The Innovation, Design & Technology theme focuses on conducting high quality translational research into the development of technology based health and care interventions. This includes the design, development and evaluation of a range of technologies and services including assisted living, telecare, telehealth and new diagnostics; the Professor in Technology Enabled Health would join this group.
The role is central to our strategic vision, research activity, engagement, impact and success of the Centre. As a Professor, you will provide strategic leadership and vision for your theme: leading and developing a team of academic staff, research fellows, assistants and students focused on delivering excellent national and international research outputs. You will undertake your own excellent research at national and international level; obtaining, planning and managing the resources needed to deliver projects, overseeing progress in all aspects of work, and preparing and presenting management information in line with University procedures and the needs of external funders.
You will have a strong national/international research profile, a successful track record in research income generation, experience of supervising doctoral students and the ability to lead and mentor staff, and support and lead research.
