Working as a Teaching Fellow, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in teaching within the field of sport. You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction with a focus on experiential learning through interactive learning, practical sessions and student projects.
You will ideally have an MSc, PhD or equivalent professional experience, or a significant track record of high-profile industry experience or professional practice in sports coaching, alongside degree-level qualifications and subject knowledge in Sports Coaching or a related area. We would especially welcome your application if you have expertise in pedagogy, motor learning, skill acquisition, psychology of sports coaching, sociology of sports coaching, youth strength and conditioning and research methods.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing innovation and improvement in pedagogy; those without a teaching qualification will need to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE and/or secure HEA fellowship.
Applicants from academia will have experience and success in delivering high-quality teaching and learning opportunities. Applicants from a non-academic background are also welcome but must demonstrate relevant and recent work experience of the subject matter and of training, coaching or mentoring delivery.
