This is an exciting opportunity to join the team of Academic Liaison Librarians at an innovative and award-winning university. The team is based in the Disruptive Media Learning Lab, working alongside education researchers and academic staff on projects to innovate in teaching and learning. You will be a confident, proactive, and adaptable individual responsible for liaison with staff and students within the Faculty of Engineering and Computing in the first instance, as well as with other university services. You will also help to manage and enrich our resource provision through management of the relevant subject collections and associated budgets.
You will plan and deliver teaching sessions and develop physical and online learning materials. Creative and enthusiastic about applying learning technologies to the delivery of innovative library support, you will be open to experimenting with new ideas in teaching and learning. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Library-wide initiatives and project work to further service development and in support of the Disruptive Media Learning Lab.
You will possess a recognised qualification in librarianship or information management, with experience of delivering high quality information services and project work. The ability to facilitate learning and deliver effective embedded information literacy, and confidence in teaching small and large groups is required. While it would be helpful to have a background in supporting science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) subjects this is not essential. A proactive attitude, a passion for teaching, confidence with technology and the desire to provide an excellent service to our stakeholders are the key attributes required.
