As an ambitious and innovative university, we're investing GBP 150m into our new research strategy, 'Excellence with Impact'. Through original approaches from world-leading experts, we're aiming for our research to make a tangible difference.
These are exciting times for our institution. Growing and strengthening our research capability is critically important within our new corporate plan. A key priority is a restructure of doctoral training and the establishment of Doctoral Training Centres (DTCs) aligned with 11 new research centres.
As part of a newly-formed team and under the direction of the Research Capability Development Manager, the post holder will support the on-going development of research capability at the University with a particular focus on doctoral training. The successful candidate will provide leadership and coordination of training and development for postgraduate researchers (PGR). The role-holder will have responsibility for a new and innovative programme of PGR development for all postgraduate researchers, alongside supporting the development and delivery of bespoke DTC programmes aligned to the Researcher Development Framework, business/industry-partner needs and the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.
For the role of Programme Manager: Doctoral Training we are seeking a creative, driven, dynamic individual with expertise in researcher development, who is looking to make a real difference in a fast-paced environment.
