The Research Development Executive is key to building research capacity and capability across the University within our Research Centres. This post offers an excellent opportunity to support a team of leading academics as well as to help shape, develop and establish Coventry University's exciting, fresh and new research direction.Successful candidates to this post will be expected to take a proactive, creative, challenging, questioning and facilitative approach in working with academics within the Research Centre to which the post is aligned, to meet its key strategic aim of delivering the University's 'Excellence with Impact' research agenda. The post holder will be responsible for the development and growth of a strategic pipeline of high quality research opportunities (demonstrating originality, significance, and rigour) and new income generation within the Research Centre.We are interested to hear from candidates with previous research and/or commercial expertise and talent for identifying and exploiting research opportunities. Applicants should have a proven ability of preparing and writing quality research proposals with impact, as well as a track record of supporting successful applications to high profile funding organisations. He/she will be able to draw on specific knowledge or experience of a discipline relevant to Research Centre's subject area and be able to clearly evidence success in securing research project funding. If you have excellent communication and bid writing skills, detailed knowledge of relevant research funding sources and a PhD or a research based Masters qualification in a relevant discipline area.
The Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience is driving innovative, transdisciplinary research on the understanding and development of resilient food and water systems internationally.
Through its focus on food and water, the Centre's research develops and integrates new knowledge on social, agroecological, hydrological, environment, and policy processes to enhance the resilience of food and water systems. Unique to this Centre is the incorporation of citizen-generated knowledge - the participation of farmers, water users and other citizens in transdisciplinary research, using holistic approaches which cross many disciplinary boundaries. CAWR also aims to advance resilience science through creative work on a new generation of key issues linked to the governance of food systems, community self organisation for resilience, hydrological change, urban water, river processes, water quality and emerging pollutants.
