Full time, Fixed Term Contract to 31 March 2024
This is an exciting time to join the UKRI GCRF South-South Migration, Inequality and Development (MIDEQ) Hub. The Research Engagement and Impact Coordinator will work closely with the existing Research Engagement and Impact Officer, liaising with both the academic and non-academic partners of the MIDEQ Hub to support the engagement and dissemination of the Hub’s work. Additionally, the post holder will assist with the development and enhancement of the Hub’s impact, i.e. non-academic benefits of the Hub’s research.The MIDEQ Hub is a network of research and delivery partners from 12 countries constituting six Global South-South migration 'corridors' between which there is significant migration of people, resources and knowledge (Haiti-Brazil, China-Ghana, Ethiopia-South Africa, Burkina Faso- Cote d’Ivoire, Nepal-Malaysia, Egypt-Jordan). The Hub's overarching objective is to establish an interdisciplinary, evidence-based understanding of the multidimensional relationships between migration, inequality and development to support the work of civil society, policy makers, international organisations, donors and local communities worldwide. The main focus of this role will be: supporting the circulation of MIDEQ’s work and findings to a wide and diverse range of stakeholders; coordinating and leading the organisation of MIDEQ internal and external events; assisting with identifying impact arising from the Hub’s research as well as creatively exploring opportunities for enhancing existing impacts and ensuring that evidence of this impact has been obtained and filed.
This role will support Coventry University ‘Excellence with Impact’ research strategy. The University has already established a portfolio of high-impact research and, with a significant investment in research, we continue to gain momentum as a world-class, innovative HEI which is internationally regarded and ranked for its research. Our 'Excellence with Impact' research strategy is supported by a team of Research Impact Officers who sit within the Research Excellence and Impact team (REI). The REI is one of the five units which make up the University's Research Services, and as well as having institutional responsibility for impact, it is responsible for driving up the quality and volume of the University's research and research information management systems.
The post holder should have practicable and demonstrable experience of working in digital communications, events organisation and management and experience maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners. They will also have excellent self-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple, potentially conflicting tight deadlines. Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additionallanguages spoken by Hub partners will be welcome.
