As we are developing exciting new international partnerships and global activities, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to join us as the Associate Head for Global Engagement in the School of Media and Performing Arts to lead the School through its next phase of growth and further development of its international portfolio. This will see you working to deliver an ambitious strategic vision, which defines the future of Media and Performing Arts education at Coventry and developing new ways for our students and staff to engage in a wide range of international collaborations. The Associate Head of School role provides an opportunity for a talented and ambitious academic who wants to apply managerial skills and experience, alongside strategic thinking, within a highly creative context. The role offers an opportunity to make a leading contribution to the School of Media and Performing Arts by: Working closely with the Head of School to drive forward the School's contribution to the University's 2030 Corporate Plan, and assuming lead responsibility for proactively developing international partnerships, TNE provision, staff and student mobility and COIL projects. Playing a leading role in developing professional standards, validation and accreditation events across the international portfolio and working with senior leadership in the faculty to ensure delivery of a high quality teaching and learning experience Supporting the Head in representing the School internally and externally, and implementing policies and procedures at School level.
Line managing academic staff in the School and supporting their career development goals which are aligned to the creative, collaborative ethos of the SchoolThe successful candidate will either have a PhD alongside experience in a relevant subject area or they will have equivalent professional practice or industry experience and a relevant postgraduate qualification coupled with experience in a relevant subject area.
An excellent track record in teaching and learning and evidence of being able to deliver an innovative, student-centred experience is important. You should also have a sound awareness of the HE international market/environment and the ability to take advantage of academic and commercial opportunities to collaborate with the creative industries all around the world. You will need an understanding academic approval processes as well as of innovative approaches to teaching and learning including the utilisation of online/digital/multi-platform applications.
