It has established a highly distinctive approach towards it steaching, research and professional practice and offers exciting undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Dance,Theatre, Music and Music Technology and within Media, Media and Communications, Journalism, Media Production, Digital Media, and Photography.
We are seeking an academic with an established profile in a distinctive field within Music Technology, to join our thriving, innovative course. Applicants should hold adoctorate in a relevant subject or equivalent professional experience and beable to relate the key debates framing the transformation and location of sound synthesis, sampling, live sound and sound to picture. In addition, applicants must have a proven track record of delivering a first-class student experience within a higher education environment. Experience of a leadership role in higher education would be desirable.
Successful candidates will undertake teaching assessment and delivery within our BSc in Music Technology course. Applicants must have capabilities in utilising different DAW's and multimedia programming (Pro-Tools, Logic, Ableton, Max-MSP). A practical working knowledge and the appropriate technical skills for areas such as studio recording and live sound is essential.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a continuing engagement with pedagogic development - those without a teaching qualification will be requiredto undertake Coventry University's PGCHE and/ or secure HEA fellowship; and musthave a proven track record of delivering a first-class student experience within a higher education environment.
Successful applicants will have a strong track record of research/scholarship (contributing to REF, and subsequent evaluations). They will have engaged actively in research, publication, income generation and/ or professional practice in recent critical/ theoretical approaches to new forms of music technology.
