The Atypical Development Research Group is based in the Centre for Research in Psychology, Behaviour and Achievement, Coventry University, UK. We conduct world-leading research into mental health, suicidality, cognition and sleep in a range of neurodevelopmental conditions, rare genetic syndromes and learning disability. Our group is expanding rapidly, with a range of research projects and impact activities funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), Autistica and Coventry University. These projects are developing the first clinically validated tools and data repositories to effectively assess, understand, and prevent mental health problems and suicide in adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). We work closely with various stakeholders, including adults with ASC who have experienced mental health problems and suicidality, to influence the direction and impact of our research from start to finish (see mhautism.coventry.ac.uk).
We are looking to recruit a fully trained Clinical Psychologist, with the knowledge and skills to successfully support our ongoing research into mental health and suicide in ASC and related neurodevelopmental conditions. The successful applicant will be committed to supporting successful delivery and dissemination of research projects, planning and tracking impact activities, and assisting with applications for research funding.
For informal inquiries, please contact the Atypical Development Research Group lead, Dr. Sarah Cassidy (sarah.cassidy@coventry.ac.uk).
Appointments will be made to the Research Associate or Research Fellow position depending on experience.
